چکیده

We discuss the low-temperature behavior of the electronic self-energy in the vicinity of a ferromagnetic instability in two dimensions within the twoparticle self-consistent approximation, functional renormalization group and Ward-identity approaches. Although the long-range magnetic order is absent at T > 0, the self-energy has a non-Fermi liquid form at low energies |ω| . ∆0 near the Fermi level, where ∆0 is the ground-state spin splitting. The spectral function at temperatures T . ∆0 has a two-peak structure with finite spectral weight at the Fermi level. The simultaneous inclusion of self-energy and vertex corrections shows that the above results remain qualitatively unchanged down to very low temperatures T ≪ ∆0. It is argued, that this form of the spectral functions implies the quasi-splitting of the Fermi surface in the paramagnetic phase in the presence of strong ferromagnetic fluctuations.

Weyl fermions and the anomalous Hall effect in metallic ferromagnets

We reconsider the problem of the anomalous Hall effect in ferromagnetic SrRuO3, incorporating insights from the recently developed theory of Weyl semimetals. We demonstrate that SrRuO3 possesses a large number of Weyl nodes, separated in momentum space, in its bandstructure. While the nodes normally do not coincide with the Fermi energy, unless the material is doped, we show that even the nodes...

Theoretical Calculations of the Effect of Finite Length on the Structural Properties of Pristine and Nitrogen-doped Carbon Nanotubes

The effect of impurities on quantum chemical parameters of single-walled nanotubes (SWNTs) was studied using density functional theory (DFT). The density of states (DOS), Fermi energy and thermodynamic energies of (5,5) carbon nanotubes were calculated in the presence of nitrogen impurity. It was found that this nanotube remains metallic after being doped with one nitrogen atom. The partial den...

Theory of unconventional metamagnetic electron states in orbital band systems

We extend the study of the Fermi surface instability of the Pomeranchuk type into systems with orbital band structures, which are common features in transition metal oxides. Band hybridization significantly shifts the spectral weight of the Landau interactions from the conventional s-wave channel to unconventional non-s-wave channels, which results in anisotropic nematic Fermi surface distortio...

Unconventional fermi surface instabilities in the kagome Hubbard model.

We investigate the competing Fermi surface instabilities in the kagome tight-binding model. Specifically, we consider on-site and short-range Hubbard interactions in the vicinity of van Hove filling of the dispersive kagome bands where the fermiology promotes the joint effect of enlarged density of states and nesting. The sublattice interference mechanism devised by Kiesel and Thomale [Phys. Re...

Low - Energy Excitations in an Incipient Antiferromagnet

We present fully self-consistent calculations in the fluctuation exchange approximation for the half-filled Hubbard model in 2D. A non-fermi liquid state evolves with decreasing temperature in this self-consistent model of coupled spin fluctuations and quasiparticles. The mean field phase transition to long-range antiferromagnetic order is suppressed and we find no evidence of a phase transitio...
